Children’s Eye Care

The experienced eye care professionals at Focused Eye Care make your children’s vision and eye health a top priority.

Nothing is more important to the well-being and learning experiences of children than good vision. We recommend a complete vision examination of all children before they enter school. We also recommend an examination schedule based on family history and the specific needs of every child.

We’re particularly concerned about the relationship between vision problems and learning difficulties. Vision problems can be the direct cause of learning disorders, and they can interfere with child’s ability to perform up to their potential.

A pediatric vision exam from your Focused Eye Care doctor covers a wide range of eye health concerns, and includes such child-specific interpretations of hyperopia (farsightedness), astigmatism, myopia (nearsightedness), strabismus (crossed eyes), amblyopia, ocular motilities, focusing and binocular eye coordination.

We also educate parents and children about eye safety, particularly about protection for eyes during sports-related activities.

Your doctor at Focused Eye Care will work to diagnose any vision problem your child may have, and suggest the best treatment option(s). For more information, request an appointment, make sure you let us know it’s for a child, and we’ll see you as quickly as we can.
