Specialty Contact Lenses

Some eye conditions cause blurry vision that is not correctable by glasses or regular contact lenses.

These conditions require the use of custom designs that can mask these irregularities and improve vision. Dr. Donnelly and Dr. Phillis have extensive clinical experience in the fitting of various specialty contact lens designs for the correction of corneal irregularities.

Some of the eye conditions that may be helped with specialty contact lenses include:

  • Keratoconus
  • Pellucid marginal degeneration
  • Post-LASIK ectasia
  • Post-corneal transplant irregularities
  • Post-trauma irregularities
  • Severe dry eye

Specialty contact lens designs include: scleral lenses, rigid gas permeable lenses, hybrid lenses, and custom soft contact lenses. The choice of lens design will depend on the condition and prescription. The doctor will make recommendations at the consultation visit.

To schedule a specialty lens consultation with Dr. Donnelly or Dr. Phillis, at our Nashua location, call 603-882-0311.
